POSITION SUMMARY: Is the Driver of and directs and oversees all retail service delivery at all branch locations. Leads and champions retail sales and coordinates the goal setting, tracking and training associated with consumer loans, deposits and related fee income. Ensures all bank and regulatory policies and procedures are followed consistently. Ensures customer service is the "AB&T Way", aligned with strategic plan and core values. Coaches and develops high-level, high-potential bankers to maximize performance. With the Chief Banking Officer, leads the bank's efforts to retain or gain market share and develop the appropriate ongoing products and services needed for the bank's market niches.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Trains, mentors, and coaches Retail Team towards a result of higher-quality client relationships and more effective business relationship-building activities. This includes the establishment of well-defined career development plans and potential succession plans. Sets goals and evaluates team and individual performance. Works with management to build culture characterized by teamwork, high morale, and retention of valued employees.
  2. Coordinates the personal banking and customer service functions at all locations to emphasize the appropriate level of sales and maximization of new and existing customer relationships. Ensures proper procedures are established and consistently followed at all locations. Tracks cross-sell ratios as appropriate for Personal Bankers, FSR's and Tellers.
  3. Works with branch managers to coordinate retail functions and ensure procedures are administered and followed on a consistent basis at all locations. Uses the bank's systems to monitor teller efficiency and productivity. Works with Branch managers to share Retail staff in a "team" manner across the region, contributing to the Bank's efficiency while maintaining the appropriate level of service for a given location or market.
  4. 4. Coaches and mentors direct report employees, including career development plans and systemic succession planning. Sets goals and evaluates individual performance. Works with the management team to build a culture characterized by teamwork, high morale, and retention of valued employees. Facilitates effective bank-wide communication when necessary. Regularly communicates policies and goals.
  5. Partners with the Bank's Training Coordinator, oversees and/or conducts training, when appropriate, for Retail Team on sales, customer service and on appropriate procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  6. Develops and fine-tunes communication system to provide timely information to ensure consistency across all locations.

  2. Supports the ongoing implementation of a Performance Management Support System utilizing tools and attending training sessions.
  3. Works with direct reports to set performance standards that are specific and measurable.
  4. Supports, coaches and mentors sales teams.
  5. Provides specific performance feedback, positive and corrective, as soon as possible after the event and formally at least once a year. Deals firmly and promptly with performance problems.

  • ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university plus additional bank related training or Banking School
  • Experience
  • 8-10 years related retail management/banking experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience dual
